Discount Calculation

Discounts are cumulative. If an author qualifies for multiple discounts, the total discount is calculated. For example, if an author from a developing country who is also a graduate student submits a Research Article, the discounts are applied as follows:

  1. Base APC for Research Article: $700
  2. Developing Country Discount (30%): $700 - $700 * 0.3 = $490
  3. Graduate Student Discount (30%): $490 - $700 * 0.3 = $280
  4. Total APC: $280

Example Calculations

  1. Research Article from a Developing Country by Graduate Students
    • Base APC: $700
    • Regional Adjustment (30% discount) and Student Discount (30% discount): $700 * (1 – 0.3 - 0.3) = $280
    • Total APC: $280
  2. Communications Article from an LDC by Non-students
    • Base APC: $400
    • Regional Adjustment (50% discount): $400 * (1 - 0.50) = $200
    • Total APC: $200

Verification of Student Status

To qualify for the student discount, all authors listed on the manuscript must provide proof of current enrollment as graduate students. Acceptable forms of verification include one of the following:

  1. University Enrollment Certificate: An official document from the university confirming the author's current enrollment status.
  2. Student ID Card: A copy of a valid student ID card showing the current academic year.
  3. Official Letter from University: A letter from the university's registrar or department head confirming the author's enrollment status.

Authors must submit one of these documents after their manuscript is accepted for publication. The Production Editor will contact the authors to verify the documents before applying the student discount.

Fast-Track Publication Fee

We fully understand the desire of authors to have their articles published quickly, as rapid dissemination of knowledge is important. Our journal typically processes accepted manuscripts for online publication within approximately one month, and they appear in Google Scholar within about 7 days after online publication. However, due to limited staff, we offer a fast-track service for authors who wish to see their articles published within 7-10 working days after APC payment. This service incurs an additional fee of $100.

The Fast-Track Publication Fee will not be reduced based on the author's identity or country. This is a paid service, and after the manuscript is accepted, the Production Editor will contact the corresponding author. The corresponding author can choose whether to opt for this service.

Payment and Waiver Requests

Authors will be invoiced upon acceptance of their manuscript. Payment must be completed before publication. We understand that some authors may have limited funding, and we offer waivers or further discounts on a case-by-case basis. Authors can apply for a waiver by providing a detailed justification of their financial situation.
