Research Articles

The Research Articles section welcomes original manuscripts that advance knowledge in the journal's focus areas. We encourage submissions of quantitative research, but also accept qualitative studies. In support of reproducibility, we welcome replication studies, especially those replicating research previously published in this journal.

Manuscript Structure: Articles should include an abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. Authors may refer to previously published articles for guidance.

Length: Manuscripts should be 5,000-8,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.

References: No minimum or maximum limits are set.

Review Process: All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review.

Review

The Review  section invites comprehensive and critical assessments of current research topics within the journal's scope. Review articles should synthesize existing literature, identify trends, gaps, and future directions, and provide valuable insights for researchers and practitioners. Review articles should be distinguished from Perspectives, which are more opinionated and offer insightful viewpoints on emerging topics.

Manuscript Structure: Articles should include an abstract, introduction, main body (organized thematically or chronologically), conclusion, and references. Authors may refer to previously published review articles for guidance.

Length: Manuscripts should be 8,000 words or more, excluding references, tables, and figures.

References: No minimum or maximum limits are set.

Submissions: Review articles are primarily editor-commissioned, but unsolicited manuscripts are also considered.

Review Process: All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review.

Perspective

The Perspective Articles section of Interdisciplinary Social Research Reports provides a platform for authors to present their viewpoints on emerging research areas, offering insights and stimulating discussion within the journal's scope. Perspectives should be opinionated and thought-provoking, often addressing current controversies, proposing new hypotheses, or offering unique interpretations of existing data.

Manuscript Structure: Articles should include an abstract, introduction, main body (organized around key arguments or themes), and conclusion. Unlike review articles, Perspectives do not require a comprehensive literature review but should be well-supported by references.

Length: Manuscripts should typically be between 3,000-5,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.

References: No minimum or maximum limits are set, but references should be sufficient to support the arguments presented.

Submissions: Perspectives are generally solicited by the editorial team, but unsolicited manuscripts are also welcome.

Review Process: All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review to ensure the highest quality and relevance.

Book Reviews

The Book Reviews section provides critical evaluations of both recent scholarly books and classic works within the scope of Interdisciplinary Social Research Reports. We welcome reviews that assess the book's contribution to the field, its strengths and weaknesses, and its relevance to current research and practice.

Manuscript Structure: Reviews should include an introduction, a summary of the book's content, critical analysis, and conclusion. Authors should provide a balanced evaluation and highlight the book's impact on the field.

Length: There is no word limit for book reviews.

References: No minimum or maximum limits are set, but references should be sufficient to support the analysis presented.

Review Process: Manuscripts are reviewed by the editorial team to ensure they meet the journal's standards for quality and relevance.

Submissions: We accept unsolicited book reviews as well as reviews commissioned by the editorial team.

Scope and Focus: We welcome submissions that report novel research findings, innovative methodologies, and significant advancements across all areas of social research . Communications should be of broad interest and provide new perspectives or critical discoveries.

Manuscript Structure: Articles should include an abstract, introduction, main body (organized around key findings), and conclusion. Supplementary information may be included to support the main text.

Length: Manuscripts should be concise, typically between 1,500-3,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.

References: No minimum or maximum limits are set, but references should be sufficient to support the findings and provide context.

Review Process: Communications are typically reviewed by the editorial team and do not undergo peer review, ensuring a rapid publication process.

Correspondence

The Correspondence section of Interdisciplinary Social Research Reports offers a platform for readers and authors to engage in scholarly dialogue, discuss recent articles, and present brief reports on current research or policy issues. Reusability Reports

The Reusability Reports section of Interdisciplinary Social Research Reports is dedicated to promoting the transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of research findings. This section provides a platform for authors to share detailed accounts of their attempts to reproduce or reuse existing research, methodologies, or data sets.

Scope and Focus: We welcome submissions that test the robustness and reusability of previously published code that supports research findings from Interdisciplinary Social Research Reports or other journals. These reports should highlight the challenges encountered, solutions applied, and implications for future research. For more information on this format, please refer to our editorial "manifesto of reproducibility."

This section aims to highlight significant breakthroughs, emerging trends, and noteworthy issues, providing context and expert perspectives on current events in the field.

Scope and Focus: We welcome articles that discuss recent research findings, policy changes, significant events, and trends relevant to social research. These pieces should offer expert analysis, contextual background, and potential implications for the field.

Manuscript Structure: Articles should include an engaging introduction, a main body (discussing the news or development in detail), and a conclusion that provides insights or future directions. Unlike research articles, News & Views articles do not require a strict format and should be written in an accessible, non-technical style.

Length: Manuscripts should typically be between 1,000-2,000 words, excluding references.

References: No minimum or maximum limits are set, but references should be sufficient to support the analysis and provide context.

Review Process: Manuscripts are reviewed by the editorial team to ensure they meet the journal's standards for quality and relevance. These submissions typically do not undergo peer review.
